Episode 57: Health Informatics with Dr. Brian Coleman
Dr. Brian Coleman, a clinician scientist at the VA Hospital in Connecticut and a health informatics researcher at Yale University medical school.
In this interview, we discuss Brian’s unconventional path through chiropractic school and we get to geek out on topics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, and the field of health informatics. We talk about how it applies to the chiropractic profession, and how interested chiropractic students can find post-doctorate research opportunities.
About Brian Coleman, DC
Brian completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Connecticut and later attended the University of Bridgeport to complete his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. While at the University of Bridgeport, he began diverging from the traditional path of a chiropractor of clinical practice towards academia and research.
To combine his interest in medical research and background as an engineer, Brian completed a postdoctoral fellowship studying medical informatics at VA Connecticut and its academic affiliate at the Yale School of Medicine.
